2024 Spring Season Registration

Registrations are now OPEN for 2024 Adult Novice Masters and Experienced Masters Programs.

See below for information on each program and their deadlines.

Free Learn to Row Event

Saturday, May 18, 1-3pm
Lake Meahagh Park, Verplanck, NY
Rain or Shine!

No experience needed! All adults welcome. Activities will include:

  • Learn the basic rowing stroke on a rowing machine
  • Explore rowing equipment, procedures, and ‘boat lingo’
  • Take your first strokes in a boat at the dock
  • Row a crew boat on the lake!

2024 Spring Masters (Adult)

Cortlandt Rowing (CCRA) Spring Adult/Masters Programs

IMPORTANT NOTE: Adult Spring registration deadline is March 18!

Whether you have never picked up an oar, or rowed in high school or college, we welcome all masters (adults ages 18 and up) into the Spring Masters Program.

2024 Spring Novice Masters Program

For adults who are brand new to rowing or just started with CCRA in the past year.

Session (12 Weeks) February 29 – June 8
Novice Program Fee $300 per Rower
Registration Deadline March 18th

2024 Spring Experienced Masters Program

For adults who have rowed with CCRA for at least three seasons, or have coach approval.

Session (12 Weeks) February 29 – June 15
Experienced Master Program Fee: $350 per Rower; +$75 for Independent Rowing
Registration Deadline March 18th

In addition to on-water instruction, both spring masters programs include the following:

  • Row2Music sessions (drop-in, indoor erg program, Mondays, 6:45-8pm)
  • Independent erging/weight training at our indoor location
    • All spring masters will have access to our indoor facility (ergs and weight equipment), arranged on participant basis
  • Independent Zoom erg sessions with a buddy
    • All spring masters will have access to the CCRA Masters Zoom meeting ID, so they can erg remotely with their CCRA buddies at their convenience (for those who have an erg at home).

Safety / Health

  • Swim test requirements: Swim 50 meters, tread water for 10 minutes, put on a PFD (lifejacket) while treading water. This is for your safety.
    • New masters must pass this test in their first season.
    • Current masters must pass this test within the last 12 months.
    • Spring season swim test date/location is TBA.
    • Spring season swim test: Mon, March 4, 5-6:30pm. Premier Athletic (Montrose)
  • All Masters must abide by CCRA Safety requirements, and watch the US Rowing Safety video every year before attending the spring session. See the Safety Requirements page.

Communications

  • Our coaches use the SportsYou App App to communicate quickly regarding any updates needed for practices including important change in plans due to weather. Please download and register on the SportsYou App. All registered Masters will receive an invitation to join the CCRA Masters SportsYou “team.”
  • Join our Masters Facebook Community by clicking here and request to “Join group.”
